It is belong to one of the most powerful queen of the 18th dynasty who was Queen Hatshepsut. Queen Hatshepsut ordered the construction of it to decorate the temple of Amun in Karnak but unfortunatly the work was abounded when cracks appeared in the granite as it was being carved out of the bedrock. This obelisk, if it was completed, it would have been the largest obelisk ever built. The work of it gives us a valuable information about the ancient Egyptian ston-working techniques.
